The Full Story

Hello Friends, 

As I sit to write the WORD OF TRUTH journey, I can’t help to remember the words of Samuel in 1 Samuel 7:12, “… thus far has the LORD helped us.” I am very thankful to God that “thus far”, He has been our Ezer – our “help.” Since we opened our doors on January 2016, we have seen the faithfulness of God. We have graduated a total of 126 with Certificate in Bible and Theology. These are Pastors and Church leaders who never dreamed of studying in a higher institution due to their academic qualifications, financial constraints and a prolonged time of study in other institutions. We at Word of Truth have been able to offer the Bible and Theology classes to our students navigating on those challenges. Training Pastors and church leaders is at the heart beat of everything that we do and we will continue to do it even as we expand in reaching out to young people and women in Maai-Mahiu community.

For the three years, we started reaching out to young people in computer training. So far we have graduated a total of 140 youths with computer skills. Another course of interest in Maai-mahiu community is Psychology counseling; since we started teaching it after Covid-19, we have graduated a total of 154 Pastor, church leaders and youths. This numbers have been telling us that there is a need in Maai-mahiu for technical and vocational center in our community. It will surprise you to know that in Maai-mahiu town with a population of 38,000 people, there is no technical or a vocational training.

We are a convinced that this is a need that the Lord want us to meet and meet it in a way that glorifies Him. To this end, we had to register with the Government of Kenya so that we could offer accredited certificates. In the registration, we could not be registered as a resource and training center as had requested but we are glad that we were able to maintain our name of “Word of Truth.” We have now been registered with the Government of Kenya as “WORD OF TRUTH TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL CENTER.” With this registration, we will continue to train Pastors and Church leaders who are serving without the training and award them with certificates that are recognized in Kenya. This is a huge mile stone.

Also with this registration, we will be able to offer technical and vocational courses that are much needed in our community. We will start with those that offers opportunities for employment or even one starting their own business. This includes but is not limited to:- 

           •Certificate and Diploma in ICT. 

          •Certificate and Diploma in Psychology counseling. 

          •Certificate and Diploma in Catering and accommodation. 

          •Certificate in Food preparation and culinary arts.                                                                                                                                                    •Artisan in Fashion Design and garment making. 

          •Grade III in Hair dressing. 

          •Grade III in Tailoring and dressmaking. 

          •Grade III in electrical wireman. 

          •Certificate in plumbing 

          •Certificate in social work and community development. 

          •Diploma in Pastry and Bakery.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Since we are a Christian organization, we will be offering three core courses which every student will be required to take; these are Spiritual Formation, Old and New Testament Survey and survey of Bible Doctrines.
